our neighbor's maid

mood:

as i am writing this now, there is an ongoing karaoke party several houses away. i wonder how the fuck i'm gonna get to sleep with the racket i'm hearing. you know how it is when alcohol and a microphone get together. it's sheer madness, i tell you.

anyway, i'm reminded of our next door neighbor's maid. now this lady LOVES to sing. and dance, i presume. i can't vouch for the dancing since the walls stop me from taking a peek (nor would i want to!). but the singing? yep, that i'm sure of.

it doesn't even matter to our next door neighbor's maid that singing doesn't happen to have the same feelings for her. nor does it matter to her that she doesn't have a fucking clue what the lyrics are.

side kwento...i remember once, she was playing locomotion. you know, the old song by kylie before she got all sexy? anyway, the start goes like this:
Everybody's doin' a brand new dance now
(C'mon baby do the loco-motion)
I know you'll get to like it
If you give it a chance now
(C'mon baby do the loco-motion)

HER version is this:
evizsherw zshrwn a zshan nu shrn zshnaw
(curnazsh baby juna loco-motion)
azshnwish geshu lazshin
gizsha vrizsh zshunzshan zshnaw
(curnazsh baby juna loco-motion)

bwarharharhar! that still never fails to crack me up! at least she got two words right.

so anyway, back to our neighbor's maid, whom we shall henceforth call...Nympha. for purposes of anonymity, of course.

almost every weekend, the neighbors are out. the whole family troops into their van and drives off to who knows where. this then leaves nympha alone in the house, which has a state of the art sound system. so believe me when i tell you that as soon as the neighbor's gates close and you hear the van drive off, the sound system will turn on. and nympha is now in the limelight.

she has quite a collection of cds. she's gone through the whole F4 phase. it lasted about 6 months. from sunup to sundown, i was listening to their whole fucking cd over and over and over again. the oh baby, baby, baby's were killing me! i'm glad i got through that with my sanity intact!

now she has a particular favorite, and i'm not sure how long this will last. not sure how long I will last too. she's gone opm now. so on weekends when the family is out (which is too often!), i'm listening to otso otso, spageti song, and some song that has kikay in its lyrics. she has a whole cd of these songs, and she plays them over and over and over again. i did say she loves to sing, right? so couple that with her singing too.

i'm close to begging my neighbors not to leave every weekend. or at least, bring nympha along.

i need to make plans to get out of the house this weekend. i'm not sure i'm up to one of her concerts. teehee!

why The Schmucks?

- We've decided to revolutionize the term. It's now a term of endearment. Before Roland & Tin became "Roland & Tin," we were very good friends with a dysfunctional sense of humor. I called him a schmuck, he called me a schmuck. Thus, The Schmucks were born. Now we're on our way to becoming Mr. & Mrs. Schmuck. Ain't life grand? -
